About Us
This photo was inadvertently taken by my 18-month-old grandson during an early morning video chat in which he showed me cars, his play kitchen, and the ceiling fan in his house. To me, my expression conveys my feeling of delight in that moment. This feeling of delight resonates with our mission at the KidStuff Community Foundation!
The Foundation is inspired by the creative, dedicated and compassionate work of the therapists and support team of KidStuff Child and Family Counseling, P.C. After more than 10 years of providing high-quality, accessible mental health services for children, families, and adults who have Medicaid, commercial health insurance, or who need a reduced fee for services, we recognize there are still gaps in what is needed vs. what is funded.
Over the course of my 35-year career of working in the field of therapy, first as a music therapist and then as a counselor, I have witnessed many changes in the healthcare system—some positive, some not. I am proud at this time to be a part of the KidStuff Community Foundation that can not only create positive change for people in need but also develop resources and programs to withstand and overcome the systemic and funding barriers people face when seeking mental health services.
